Rotary Motor
RX8 Starting problems….sometimes?
This morning my wife went to turn on her car, it started to crank like normal than immediatly cut off half way through crank.
Tried starting after that no sounds, no ticking or slow crank, just silence. Backed it down our driveway (about 15-20 degree slope) got it even with the street thus leveling the car it started right up no problems.
It did have little fuel, my question is more of if this even sounds right,
Could it have been the angle of the car putting the gas to the opposite side of the tank as pickup, thus no fuel was there to pick up and by some safety feature prevents to car from starting because of no fuel to save the motor itself.
OR
Could it be an electrical short or some sort of electrical problem.
Also any time the car is on level ground it fires right up no problem, also it has had a longer crank time than any other car ive owned (none are rotary motors though) by a few seconds. Any ideas on that?
No fuel should not cause it to not crank it should crank and not start,
It could be ;
a bad safety switch on the tranny (automatic or manual)
Dead spot on the starter
Bad solenoid
Bad terminal on the battery
